Compare It!

Let’s say that you have two TXT files and you can’t figure out how the text in the first one is different from the text in the second one. Compare It! takes those files, puts them side-by-side on its dual-pane interface, and highlights the differences. On top of that, the application allows you to merge the two files. That is, in a nutshell, the functionality you can expect to get from Compare It!

Compare It! is compatible with any Windows edition from Windows 95 up to Windows 7. To install the application you will have to download a small archive (close to 2MB in size), extract and run the executable inside, and follow the instructions presented by a setup wizard. In just a few clicks you will be done, and that’s quite nice.

As mentioned above, Compare It! has a dual-pane interface – one file is displayed on the left, the other to the right, and the differences are highlighted. It must be mentioned here that Compare It! provides support for multiple file types: C++ files, Office files, text files, binary files, ZIP files.

When you launch Compare It!, the application will ask you to load two files. Then it will display those files side by side – the differences are, as already mentioned, highlighted. And then it will allow you to edit files, merge files, and print comparison results and generate HTML and text reports.

So to sum it up, Compare It! makes it quite easy to compare and merge files.
